High density polyurethane injection
The injection of high density polyurethane foam to lift your concrete structures
The polyurethane foam we use does not dissolve in contact with water, it is hydrophobic. Our 2-component polyurethane foam is made of a closed cell and a rigid polyurethane structure that can be used in humid environments. When polyurethane foam is injected underneath concrete slabs, the water present underneath rises to the surface of the slab.
Our polyurethane foam can lift any kind of structure such as:

When we inject a minimum of 2 inches under the concrete slab, the foam acts as a vapor barrier and creates a barrier against moisture coming from the ground.

Advantages of polyurethane resin injection
Waterproof: Our polyurethane is resistant to mold, bacteria and fungi.
Strong and light: Polyurethane concrete lifting does not add extra weight to your floor compared to mortar injection.
Non-invasive: Polyurethane lifting is a very clean way to lift slabs. It leaves no mess to pick up after the job.
Affordable: Concrete lifting is a permanent solution. Polyurethane injection is inexpensive compared to replacing the entire concrete slab, which is 50-75% cheaper.
Fast acting: The polymer expands and reaches its final strength very quickly. No need to suspend your work crews during the work. You can get on the slab as soon as we finish lifting the slab.
Environmentally friendly: Our polyurethane does not react with soil or release harmful chemicals. It is made with recycled materials. Our product is considered safe for landfill and disposal.
Concrete Stabilization and Soil Settlement
The stability of the concrete slab is a result of the quality on which the slab is poured. The less quality is neglected, the more stable the concrete slab will remain in the long term.
The usual preferred solution for repair is to break up the slumped area or to inject mortar or grout which adds weight to the soil. This solution is also the most expensive and the longest to execute. For several years now, there has been a new technique that is faster and less expensive (up to 70%) than breaking. The solution that we have been offering for more than 7 years is the lifting of concrete by injection of high density polyurethane. This technique is also called “slab jacking” or the lifting of sagging concrete slabs. BÉTON SAMSON has a polyurethane resin that allows for the rapid lifting of concrete slabs.
The work takes an average of 2 to 8 hours depending on the size of the slab. The resin is injected under the concrete slab to fill the voids and then raise the concrete slab to its original level. Polyurethane can also consolidate the soil when its load bearing capacity is weakened.
There are several types of polyurethane available on the market. The one used for lifting concrete slabs is different from the one that is sprayed to insulate walls. There are several densities available such as 2.0 lbs generally used in light residential, 4.0 lbs for commercial and heavy residential and 6.0 lbs for roads and industrial. At BÉTON SAMSON, we prefer to offer a high quality product to our customers, that’s why we always use the 4.0 lbs for everything residential.
