Concrete repair
Repair of a concrete structure in sight? NOT SO QUICK!
Epoxy coating
Often, a sidewalk leading to your home or another surrounding your inground pool is collapsed. You must have it repaired before a concrete coating company intervenes since they do not do this type of intervention. Perhaps it is also your garage floor that is causing you level problems? No need to start all over at great expense. There is now a technique to lift and level stubborn slabs for a fraction of the cost. This technique consists in injecting under pressure a polyurethane foam under the slab, which will have the effect of lifting it and thus leveling it.
Polyurethane injection
This work requires training and specialized equipment. The contractor you choose will first drill one or more 16mm (5/8 ″) holes as appropriate, where there is a drop. Thereafter he will install a spout on which will be attached the hose which will be used to inject the resin. Using a very powerful pump, he will then inject the polyurethane under pressure until the roof is full and the slab is at the same height as the rest of the slab. The foam used will withstand freeze / thaw cycles, mold and will not degrade over time. Once the work is finished, the holes will be sealed with mortar, making the repair almost invisible.
Fast and economical
The resin only takes a few minutes to harden; shortly after the injection, we can start to circulate again on the slab. You are free to cover the surface with decorative cement, quartz or a polyurea flake system.
Concrete repair
If the slab in your garage or basement is brittle and spread over its entire surface, it is best to hire a company that specializes in finishing concrete. First remove the crumbled concrete, then grind the surface using a rotary plate and clean the surface with a pressure washer. Next, a self-leveling polymer cement which can be colored is laid. Unlike concrete, leveling polymer cement can be as thin as a sheet of paper and rarely exceeds an inch (25 mm) thick. It therefore equalizes the appearance of the floor. A densifying sealer is then added to harden and waterproof the surface.
